Sims 4 Activism Mod

*If you don't have Sims I included some short videos of what the trait looks like (in game) in the downloadable zip folder*

I experimented with making a Sims 4 mod last year (2022) as part of my university work.

I am an avid Sims player (since about 2005) and I absolutely love Sims mods. Sims 4 mods have been the most instrumental so far because of how talented modders out there are. I first started playing around with making custom content like hair, and then started researching how mods were made. I wanted to make an activism mod where sims could be activists for specific causes. I wanted it to be as in depth as Wicked Whims or Basemental Drugs (in terms of how these mods affect the game and game play). But I only got as far as making a personality trait and some basic personalised social interactions.

I found a really helpful tutorial by Sims ModelSimmer (https://www.youtube.com/@simsmodelsimmer). Through them, I was able to find a program literally called Sims 4 Mod Constructor. This is what you will need if you're interested in trying it out yourself:

The most challenging thing is finding documentation that can help you when you get stuck. From my understanding, the modding side of Sims is completely community run and no support is given from EA. So that made progress really slow. I think if I also wanted to achieve my dreams for this mod, I would have also needed to spend some time learning Python (nothing wrong with that though).
